Dems in Disarray
What was the point?
Forty-one days of shutdown pain, government workers unpaid, SNAP recipients terrified, airports stretched thin, all for Democrats to cave and get nothing.
Are we missing something? Because from here, it looks like leadership collapsed under the weight of its own timidity.
This was the leverage. The only card left to play. We don’t have the House. We don’t have the Senate. So what were they waiting for…divine intervention? A sudden rush of conscience from a party that celebrates cruelty as strategy? When exactly do they think Republicans will negotiate?
All this deal shows us is that Democrats are not united. They have no clear leadership, no shared vision, and no willingness to risk political capital for the people they claim to represent.
Trump and his allies drag this country through chaos after chaos, and Democrats respond with moral speeches instead of strategy. The shutdown was supposed to mean something, a stand, a line in the sand. Instead, it became a mirror reflecting just how powerless the “party of the people” has allowed itself to become.
Maybe the real shutdown isn’t the government.
Maybe it’s the courage of those in power who still think bipartisanship is possible with fascists.
